STEAM RALLY

Many thanks to everyone who helped in any way over the weekend, both up at the showground and out at the Gryphon Leisure Centre loading and unloading. The weather was relatively kind to us, and the whole event did seem a great success and enjoyable. It gave us loads of practice and everyone seemed to have fun.

Thank you again to everybody who helped and well done to all the gymnasts.

MAY CAMP AT GRYPHON

On Saturday 31st May we are intending to camp over in tents at the Gryphon Leisure Centre, have a BBQ, drinks, games and generally have a fun evening, and be ready to do gym again on the Sunday. We hope as many of you will be able to join in as possible. More details will follow.

LONDON FESTIVAL (10-12th OCT)

We have had a tremendous response for this; over 35 gymnasts going!! Wow! I have now booked the room at the hotel (Travelodge - Harlow North Weald) so if any parents want to book in feel free. We are also in the process of sorting transport which, like last year, will be by using school minibuses and a couple of cars.

It won't be confirmed until June but we expect to be doing a 4 minute routine on the Friday evening (same one as last year adapted to include extra numbers) and an 8 minute routine on Sunday morning. The theme will be Halloween and I'm sorting music out at the moment.

We intend to use all the competition leotards for Friday night and Halloween theme dress for Sunday. Start thinking now; remember it needs to be practical to do gym in. So don't throw out and old black, white or red clothes as I'm sure we'll be able to use them, and if you can come up with a costume for your child, this'll keep the costs down for the club.

Again, Friday night will include the gala evening followed by a firework display. On Saturday evening, we'll avoid the BBQ this year(!) and get pizzas etc instead and there will also be a disco.

For anyone wishing to spread the cost, we are happy to start taking in the money now. Simply give monies to Jane or Anne in an envelope labeled 'London Festival' with your child's name.

FINALS COMPETITIONS

This Sunday, Craig & Amy, Owen & Jordan and Ben & Jack are taking part in the Prep A/B Finals in Southampton. Next weekend on the Floor, James & Craig, Nick & Sarah B, Nick & Sarah S and Nick & Nick will be joined in the Tumbling by Olivia, Sarah B and James at the NDP National Finals in Stoke-on-Trent. This is the most gymnasts we have ever taken and I think we wish them all well, enjoy the experience and do your best.

DORSET & WILTS COMPETITION

Dorset & Wilts Competition is to be held on Sunday 29th June in Poole. I intend to use this competition for experience, for newer partnerships and lower level competitors. It is for Floor Prep A - Grade 2 only and Nat. 1-4 Level Tumbling.

Some gymnasts may be entered into this instead of going to Yate, and some may use it as experience for going to Yate. A lot of this will depend on how things progress between now and the beginning of June.

If you are not available for any of the dates of the competitions, please can you let Jane know as soon possible.

SCHOOLS FINALS

And finally, well done to Craig Goldring who went to Stoke-on-Trent tumbling in the Schools Finals and came 3rd winning a Bronze medal - a real achievement!
