SCHOOLS
COMPETITION
A huge
thank you to everyone who helped out in whatever capacity on Sunday.
It was a real team effort, where everything ran smoothly and as a result
we made £113.00 on the raffle and £304.02 on refreshments.
Well
done to all the gymnasts, especially Craig Goldring who will be our sole
representative at Schools Finals. The competition standard was extremely
good and we must remember that we do not have the quantity of gymnasts
all attending the same schools that some others do.
Well
done gymnasts and a huge thank you to parents
COMMUNITY
SESSION / ADDITIONAL TRAINING
We
started a Westfield session on Monday this week from 5-7pm which is
partially Community, partially Gryphon time. Our
gymnasts are more than welcome to come from 5pm, warm up, practice
dance, or join in and help community from 5pm, being ready at 6pm to
make use of the rig and practice balances and agilities from 6pm.
If any of you know anybody who might
be interested in the community sessions, which we hope will be fun
sessions with games, balls and hoop work, as well as practicing basic
skills and carrying out badge work please let them know - the charge
will be £2.50 for the hour.
For any Gryphon West gymnasts who
wish to join us from 5-7pm the charge will also be £2.50
Anyone
wanting more information please talk to Jane, Scott or Richard.

COMMITTEE
MEETING

A quick reminder that
there is a Committee Meeting this Sunday February 10th at 1pm
immediately prior to gym. Remember, all parents are part of this
committee so please try to ensure you attend if possible.
SALE
RAIL
We
have discussed before about the selling on of old outgrown leotards.
Starting with this Sunday's session, the rail will be available. Simply
bring along your leotard on a hanger, with a ticket with your name and
price you would like for it and hopefully they will be purchased by
other gymnasts.
FUTURE
COMPETITIONS
March 2nd Gloucester –
NDP Tumbling
March 15th/16th Yate – NDP Floor
April 6th Bristol – Prep A/B Floor
PROBLEMS
If anyone ever has any
issues, you are always welcome to speak to one of the Coaches. In
addition, please remember that if matters cannot be resolved in this
way, the Club has two Welfare Officers - Sam Hole (Nick's mum and member
of The Gryphon Leisure Centre staff) and Gemma Voysey (as the gymnasts'
representative) who will be attending a course next month.
